Take away beer packaging that could also be used for coffee. How to carry more than two take away cups when you only have two hands for the job is a dilemma as old as the takeaway cup itself. This great cardboard creation is one of many solutions out there but it's real advantage is that it can stay flat packed until needed.

Any form of glass bottle particularly one that contains alcohol needs to be well protected. Using double corrugated cardboard and a well structured design keeps this bottle well protected but also far more environmentally friendly. It is designed to have two opened sides and not to fall out, negating the need for any clear plastic.

Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola  or 'Coke' as it is affectionately known, has some of the most iconic packaging in the world. The progression of coke bottles from the different glass shapes to the modern plastic ones as well as the red and silver cans is highly recognisable and well loved. Coke has brought out a huge range of special edition packaging over the years and some of the most recent have been designed by graphic design and packaging company, Turner Duckworth.

Most recently they have brought out a simple aluminium bottle, with the large iconic logo and a lot of white (or red) space. The bottle shape is similar to that of the older glass ones and plays on the idea of the 'Coke' brand heavily.

They have re-designed their take-out cups for fast food chains that stock their products. The simplicity of the re-design again shows their return to the traditional 'Coke' brand identity.

Coke zero is the masculine version of Diet Coke. The idea of a 'diet' product doesn't appeal to men, however Coke Zero with its black theme does.

The entire line of Diet Coke products have had a re-design ready for autumn this year. The cans in particular focus upon the most recognisable elements of the product, the D and the K.

A comparison of padded envelopes

13/11/2012 10:57

Gold padded envelopes are the best option when it comes to sending sensitive mail. Protection from most of the dangers is guaranteed; bumps, water, tears are all protected against. Padded envelopes come in several types each with a different strength.

Bubble bags are constructed using a tear resistant, high quality white paper exterior and a lightweight laminated bubble lining. This lightweight construction helps reduce postage costs. They are best used for fragile items such as DVDs and Jewellery. Padded bags on the other hand offer exceptionally strong protection for bulky or heavy items. They are manufactured from highly durable tear resistant and puncture resistant kraft paper and come with a double glued bottom flap for extra protection.

The Kraft Padded Bags come in a range of colours that are green, red, yellow, blue, orange and black and are available in three sizes. The Plain White Padded envelopes are perfect for quicker and easier solution to taping up and packing boxes when sending deliveries or parcels. This in turn can cut down the shipping cost as the weight is reduced. Furthermore, the standard sizes allow for shipping of an array of items of differing sizes and weights.

The arofol envelope has an extra layer of protection. It has a middle layer with air bubbles that make the envelope have a bubble wrap feel. The bubbles are a superior protection against shock and vibration. Extremely fragile items are best packed in arofol envelopes. There is a special type of envelope known as the bubble mailer which have nothing but bubble wrap for cushioning. They are very popular with items enclosed in casings such as DVD’s.

The jiffy padded envelopes are superior to the normal padded envelopes because of their extra layer of protection. They are also known as ‘mailtuff’ which are envelopes that are tear resistant and are especially good for mailing sharp edged or pointed items. They have a tight secure closure and are tamper proof padded to give the items extra protection and security. The envelopes are made from recyclable material that is biodegradable; this makes them very eco friendly.

The various types of padded envelopes are all efficient, however their costs vary. A store brand padded envelope could be cheaper than a name brand envelope, though the quality may not be the same.  Whatever the type of padded envelope you prefer, and whatever its contents, be sure that the mail will arrive in the same condition as when it was posted.

Shrink wrap to protect glass bottles

07/11/2012 16:36

Do you know that you can put pallet shrink wrap into efficient use as far as the protection of your glass bottles is concerned? With each passing day, these packaging materials are steadily gaining popularity and it is no secret that whenever you go to a supermarket or your local store you will most definitely see this material on many of the products that we use in our day to day lives. What’s more, lots of suppliers have adopted the practice of packing glass bottles using this kind of technology.

By using this kind of packaging material to pack your glass bottles, you can rest assured that they will be safeguarded from dust, dirt and from being scratched. Two of the most important reasons as to why you should always use these packaging supplies are that they come in handy and are very simple to use. In addition to this, these packaging supplies are flexible enough to conform to any shape of product they used to cover and unlike other materials they can be be used manually.

When using this packaging material to protect your glass you need to make sure you purchase the correct size of these materials. After getting the correct size and amount of this material, you can then proceed and cover your glass bottles in whatever manner that you may wish and then apply some heat.

Heat is applied on this packaging material by directing the heat produced by a heat gun or a blow dryer onto this material on the bottle. It is of great significance for you not to put the source of the heat too close to this packaging material unless you want it to melt and leave tearing on this plastic. After you are through with heating, you should leave it to cool down.

The advantage of using shrink wrap to protect your glass bottles is the fact that this material is transparent; a trait that can enable you to see through the bottle and make out what material is in your glass bottles. What’s more, the transparent nature of this packaging material will not block any labeling that you have put on your glass bottles therefore even if your products will remain on your shelf for a long period of time your glass bottles will still appear brand new when the packaging material is removed from them.

Packing Your Boxes For Shipping

06/11/2012 14:32

Here's a great video on how to pack a fragile item from shipping supply TV, they have some great tips for keeping things safe and sound during their journey to your customer.

Sometimes boxes don't have to be very fancy

02/11/2012 16:33

Even though single wall boxesare usually a fixture in most of our homes, they don’t have to be very fancy in order to carry out their intended use effectively. Have you ever sat down and asked yourself what use or what part does ornamentation on these packaging supplies play as far as the transportation of your items is concerned? Will being fancy enable your packaging supplies reach their intended destinations faster? Or will the fact that these supplies or cartons are fancy make moving companies charge you any less for their services?

The above questions you will no doubt reveal to you the hard, undisputable fact that sometimes beauty and elegance add no value to packing materials.

Boxes offer a superb way of transporting and holding small and big items for storage. In addition to this, they are very adaptable as they can be easily employed for a myriad of other purposes. These purposes can range from crafts to home decoration to useful everyday items. The only thing that plays a part in the determination of what kind of usage your boxes will have are the kinds of material used in their construction and the exact requirements of the person using it. It’s no wonder that in some Asian countries such as India and Bangladesh, during the seasonal Monsoon rains, some home owners are known to spread these packaging materials, particularly those with plastic linings, on their floors. This in turn produces the desired effect of preventing water from outside leaking into the floors of their houses. This simple ingenuity by these people from these two countries strengthens the fact that sometimes these packaging materials do not have to be fancy in order to fulfil their intended purposes.

To many people who have grown used to the notion that boxes can only be used for practices such as moving houses or offices, storing items, construction of inexpensive toys for your children and in some other circumstances as garbage bins; they should understand that these packaging materials can also be used in the garden as mulch for your young plants. When it comes to such an undertaking you do not have to be a genius to come to the conclusion that this exercise does not require these packaging supplies to be fancy as their elegance will add nothing to the well being of your plants
